In this true cat story, a cat by the name of Tama has been dressed as a "stationmaster" in a bid to improve business. Business did improve, at 10% currently, when people from across the country flock to this particular station just to get a picture of Tama.
Business now is not just selling train tickets but also souvenirs of Tama, which are snapped up like hot cakes.

Man Marries Dog In India
It was reported that this man married a dog in a bid to lift a "curse" which befell him fifteen years ago when he stoned two dogs to death and hung them to a tree. Well, that’s pretty bad. The groom said that he his health had suffered since then and the way to lift this curse, he was led to believe, was to symbolically marry a dog.

Thumbelina the Mini Miniature Horse
I remember reading about this interesting news article some time back but back then, I did not have a blog!
I think that with Thumbelina so small, it has the dwarf gene of a miniature horse, making it a mini horse of the mini horse, if you get what I mean, everyone who sees and gets to know her will easily fall in love with her! She is so cute, don't you think so?

2008 Hero Dog of the Year Award
I mean, it was just a random search and I did not expect it to turn up any results but it did. I thought that it would be a police rescue dog or something but NO, this is a pit bull that had saved her owner from assault one day in mid-2007, when she was attacked from behind when she was entering her home.
I am always moved by stories like these, true animal hero stories that seem like they came from the movies or something. Here is a pit bull, a breed that is so ferocious that I think that some countries banned it.
I keep telling people that animals are like people and they do know when we are in need of help, they do understand our feelings and such but these are only what another animal lover would understand.
To read the full account of Maya and how she saved her owner's life and why she was honoured as the Hero Dog 2008, visit the official website of National Dog Day. You can also read about the Hero Dog of 2007, Moti, and of 2006, Honey.

Snoopy the Rescued Crow
In this true story that I read from all-creatures.org, this crow was rescued was a baby and was bottled fed. When it was time for him to leave, he refused to fly away. I am actually not surprised at all because I read many cases of animals wanting to be with the family who saved them instead of going into the wild.
Anyway, you can read all about this story HERE. I'd just like to say that although I read many interesting stories on animals, animal relationships with humans, etc, I will remember the stories more if there are photos published with the stories. Don't you think so, too?

Billy and the Kid
I mean, just look at this boxer named Billy. He has adopted a baby goat [kid] named Lily, even though they are of different species. On the other hand, we have humans, people, adults, who will willfully abandon their own babies. I am sure you have come across cases like that, right?

£6 million Trouble
Anyway, that was last year and some of you may know that I was busy like hell the whole of last year that I had to put blogging on hold!
Just now, I thought I would check to see if the story is still on the internet so that I could do a post for this rich bitch, Trouble [LOL Sorry for the pun!] and yes, I found this story and photo on The Sun.
Can you imagine being SO rich that you could will £6 million to a DOG? Sure I love my two dogs but I think that if I were to give away £6 million, humans would have better use for it. As for my dogs, errrrr £1 million each would be more than enough! :D

Saved By The Puma
Still, we should know that the Puma is not an animal you want to mess with on any given day. This Puma may have saved Daniel's live but no one can say that all Pumas will act the same. Heck, wild animals can't be trusted at all.
Here is an excerpt of the story:
From within the branches, a pair of yellow eyes watched Daniel. The puma had been stalking him. A puma is a powerful cat with claws that could shred Daniel into strips. But instead of moving in for the kill, the puma approached Daniel and lay across his chest and limbs.

Dog Buried Alive Recovering
I'm very pissed that there are such people walking among us! I hope that he/she is found as soon as possible and charged in court, although that is still nothing compared to being buried alive.
Shall we demand an eye for an eye?
The cries for help went unanswered for who knows how long.
It was about 10:45 p.m. Saturday when Melissa Vanderpool and Robbie Wilson first heard the whimpers. They thought it was just a neighbor's whiny puppy, yearning for attention.
But Sunday, while working in his backyard, Wilson decided to investigate. He looked over his privacy fence and saw a dog's nose poking out of the ground.
Wilson called Vanderpool, his fiancee, who called for help. An Animal Control officer responded.
Wilson, a friend of his and the Animal Control officer unearthed the bull-mastiff mix that was buried in the backyard of a home in the 7700 block of West Jackson Street.

Arnold Ziffel the PiG
This is the second time I'm featuring a pig in my blog. A pig is an amazing animal. It is smarter than we give it credit for. Maybe it's because of its looks!Arnold Ziffel is not an ordinary pig, because he is a celebrity pig! Yes, he was THAT pig in "Green Acres", a sitcom which ran on CBS from 1965 to 1971.

For Better Or Worse, Till Death Do We Part
When a person decides to keep a pet, I think it should be for better or worse, till death do we part. This is one such case.Jessy, adopted from the SPCA, suffered from various health problems, but her owners stuck by her. This cannot be said for many other owners who take the easy way out by disowning old and sickly dogs.

The Story About Webster
This is Webster, a very cute puppy but led a short and tragic life. One wonders how can an innocent puppy be made to suffer? Ultimately, man can plan and God decides. Maybe things happen for a reason. This may seem senseless now but this is life.

Mike the Headless Chicken
Well, it is mighty hard to believe but there is even a holiday declared to honour this chicken in his hometown, Fruita, Colorado. So it must be true....
Take a look at this picture. Amazing??
Mike's adventure started on September 10th, 1945, when he was only five and a half months old. He lived in that headless condition for eighteen months.
It is very amazing. I wonder HOW can a chicken with no head live for that long???
The sight of him must be scarier than sightings of headless spirits eeeeeeeeeeee

Braaaaap! I love You!
There’s really no way to write this story without doing so from a personal point of view. So here goes.
Feathered Friends, the bird area at Best Friends, was running a bit low on room and they asked if anybody would be interested in fostering some of the birds. My family and I decided that we’d love to. As an aside, we already have a cute little leprechaun of a bird named Tiki. She’s a green Quaker parrot and quite a riot. We figured one bird was great. Why not two?
Anyway, Jasper, a six-year-old African gray, came to the sanctuary right around the time the bird area needed some foster homes. Grays have always intrigued me, so my family opted to foster Jasper. She came to our home and right away started making funny whistles and dangling upside down. In no time, we heard her say “Jasper” and “I love you,” among other things.
A talented lass is she, not that anybody should look to adopt a parrot solely for their ability to vocalize. Still, it was fun to hear what she could do. The ultimate sign that we had a true gem in Jasper came one night early on when I strolled through the door carrying a soda. Jasper took one look at me with my carbonated beverage and let out the most horrific, make-your-mom-scowl belch I’d ever heard!
You see, inside many grown men, myself included, resides a portion of the brain permanently allocated to that 12-year-old adolescent time when belching around the campfire with other guys was the best way to spend an evening.
When Jasper threw out that highly polished mimic, a fully accurate root-beer belch, I felt deep down that it could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. And guess what? It was.

Seal Found Miles From Sea
A seal was found waddling down a country lane - four miles from the coast.
Animal experts are baffled after the exhausted common seal was discovered near Borwick, Lancs, reports the Mirror.
A couple saw it from their car. They managed to get it in the vehicle and took it home before calling the RSPCA.
Animal collection officer Nick Green said: "It's a mystery how it turned up in the middle of nowhere.
"It was about a mile from the River Lune and four miles from the sea."
There were no grazes on the seal's body to suggest it had crawled from the river.
